Hey all! i just uploaded a gig i recorded last week. It's a bit rough but i thought it was worth sharing, just for fun. As some of you know, i've been playing in the Buenos Aires (Argentina) jazz scene for a couple of years, and i expect to release my first album within this year. Recently i took a few months off from Argentina to reconnect with my homeland (Chile).
hey,
this is my first mix attempt for the recordings with my new trio. this song i wrote long time ago and recorded in many different versions but never with vocals. since i need to find a basic sound for of the recordings i would appreciate your help critique for the mix. too much reverb? how do i mix a voice best?.. any help and tips are very much welcome! thanks for listening! Tarik
Stole this off our sister site www.trumpetworkshop.com. There's a whole series over there. Is this helpful to anyone? If so I'll steal more!
Chega De Saudade - Gustavo Agatiello & Ed Saindon performing at Berklee Percussion Festival on June 20th, 2011.
Here's another one I captured on video. I only wish I captured more footage.
p.s. sorry for the movement in the videos - it was difficult to sit still and hold my camera during this ;-)
Enjoy!!

This is what I was trying to make reference to in the shout box, on June 22nd, (sorry about the clutter). I think the two instruments compliment each other well in this atmospheric composition. Thoughts?
Roger Beaujolais, vibes, BJ Cole, pedal steel and Simon Thorpe, bass are LushLife "Chasing A Dream".
Steve Weiss is known as King Gong. So here he is holding a gong in his Warehouse. He must love gongs because I saw a couple hundred of them if not way more. I can't believe how much inventory he has!
I hung out with Steve Weiss for a bit today. He showed me 2 of his 5 warehouses PACKED with percussion equipment. You can't even imagine how much stuff he has. Must be millions and millions and millions of dollars of equipment. I bet he'd fill one or 2 Walmarts with gear! One whole section of the warehouse was nothing but gongs from China.
Then he took me to his collection part of the wharehouse. One room was full of old vibraphones and marimbas and more. it was pretty incredible. Steve is a great guy and has been a friend for years.
Hello
I'm looking for an old Musser vibes, 80's or older WITH WIDE BARS. I'm glad for every hint!
I'm living in Switzerland, so I'd prefer the instrument stays in Europe.
