This is one of the posters I designed for Tony's gig in Ireland during his stay here, it features some fine musicians based here an of course the "Teach" himself. Really looking forward to these gigs.

i try to get rid of my own cliches and try to get some sort of "new" aspects to my playing. this kind of solo i would never play on a reharsel or gig but i think it´s important to play some wiered stuff sometimes, to get used to the sound and if even just 1 or 2 small ideas of a 10 minutes solo work out ok or good you get something out of it.
3 main things i tried on this practice tape:
1) try to keep an idea once you established it
The vibes are here! Not permanently (they belong to the high school), but it's something to work on. It's an Adam's "Vibraphone Concert". Excited already!

I was playing the piano and wanted to randomly choose a tune out of the RealBook, and opened to Lament by J. J. Johnson. I think it is a beautiful ballad. Here is my attempt of an arrangement for vibes. I tried to get the fullness I was getting on the piano, but it is tough on (my) vibes. Maybe at some point, I will record piano, and play vibes on top of it. I found that Ted posted a piano/vibes duet of Lament (see Check This Out, above).
