It seems to be a pretty quiet morning here at the Vibes Workshop so I figured I'd post another video. This is from the same concert as the Deep Hearts video I uploaded a few days ago.
This one is called Ups and Downs and it is one of my originals.
I've had the pleasure of working on several projects with him and every one has been a joy. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he just turned 21... maybe 22.
Nice and grooving, and I like the way you wrote for vibes and piano to play with the ways in which they are the same.
I always like electric bass and vibes, but I sometimes feel like those two + electric guitar can end up sounding like the whole band is coming through a long chain of chorus pedals. The piano cuts that effect really nicely. Cool.
If only there were a grad program. Berklee has either undergrad programs... or honorary doctorates, with nothing in between. While I am a 'grad' (twice), I'm in the "Professional Diploma" program up here.
But I'm thrilled to be hanging with incredible talent up here.
