solo vibes:
when playing rubato the vibes sound full,
but when I start to create steady time the full presence isn't there, when you think "wow I wonder where the bassist is"
any thoughts on how to play solo vibes and make the song feel not empty?

One more lesson dealing with a basic concept- using upper structure triads to build lines. Here I suggest the use of tri- tone subs with an otherwise same approach.

Very important for vibe players to watch!
I've been talking to someone I met on facebook about her father Jerry Shard. He played trombone and vibes. One cool thing he did was record a tribute record to Adrian Rollini. So he must have known quite a big about Adrian. It would have been great to be able to talk to him! Here's the email his daughter sent and I'll Include photos and a video of him playing drums and trombone. I'm trying to get a recording of him playing vibes.
