A vibes, cello and drums band. I was expecting the worse but there's something I like about these guys. I at least give them credit for trying something like this! What do you think?
I am selling 2 sets (8 mallets) of the gary burton signature mallets by vic firth. They are lightly used. I purchased them a few years ago but I've since switched to the Balter Micelli mallet.
The price is $40 for both sets, plus shipping ($10 within the U.S. $20 outside the U.S.) If interested contact me via email at tedwolff46@gmail.com
See attachments for photos and an mp3 clip of what they sound like.
Finally!!
Emilie who lives in the west coast had a job in Disney Land Paris. And guess... we met in Paris and she came to stay for the night in my little home !
It really was a fun and cool evening for every one. Emilie is the sweetest vibes "chick"! ;-) Of course we talked about the site... and our dear Tony!! I hope we meet again soon!
Yet another picture for my beautiful album!! :o) ww.vibesworkshop.com/node/9063/
Listen to it. I didn't fix the sheet music up, but it's all there. Listen to me play and make it sound like that. It's that simple,
Everything you need is below.
Yes another great thing about the site is I get to meet people with great Vibe stories!
I'm talking to the daughter of Jerry Shard. He was a vibe player from back in the day and he was on Capitol Records AND did a tribute to Adrian Rollini. That's pretty cool huh? They have the record on cassette and I'm trying to get a copy along with photos for the site! Jerry lived in Philadelphia. I'll pass along more info as I get it.
Here's an advanced chord study. There's a ton to study here.
There are many things you can do with this etude.
First:
Write in the chords of the tune on the pdf. This is important because hopefully you'll do some analyzing.
Learn and memorize the etude.
Play it with the bass accompaniment part. Can you hear the changes? Ok, now play it with a metronome on 2 and 4.
Study the rhythms carefully and the phrasing. Can you hear the chord qualities, can you see what's different from chord to chord?

Learn and memorize the solo OR transcribe the solo and then check it out. Do the work :-)

Can you transpose it all into another key.
