i´m having so much fun with the malletkat. the vibes are real the rest is the malletkat. it´s much less touching than david and tony played it but it´s fun to try such an beautiful tune.
i found a very touching and nice version of norah jones & bonnie raitt on youtube. i love this one!!

p.s. this is much too long and the solo gets boring that´s why i call this practice tape :)
Rusty just joined us on the site. I love his relaxed and swinging 2 mallet playing! Babu had already posted a video with him. This morning Patrice put this one on his Face Book Page. I can't resist sharing it with you! Man this tune is all except "sad"!! (triste) ;-) - Enjoy!
Tony hope this is cool and that I have found the right place to shameleesy thump a new cd. On Summit Records I am part of a new cd entitled Three Voices. Flugelhorn, Vibes and Bass. The recording turned out very nicely, so if anyone is interested please check out at the following links with samples and reviews.
Best,
Rusty
ps Tony I think one my students is doing the Delaware workshop. Great scene you have created! Thanks.
hey everyone. so many blessings have been happening for me in Oregon. I am excited to say that im back playing vibes full time, with only minor hand pain. so i thought i would post a track from the regular wednesday gig i have here in Medford Oregon .. the sax player on these gigs is Mr. Bud Berlingeri who was with Louie Prima's band before Sam Butera .. Bud is 84 and swinging hard ..
hope you all enjoy .. chops are kind rusty .. so will post more when i remember to bring my zoom recorder out ...
This is a beautiful tune that Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden have recorded. It seems to adapt well to solo vibes too.
There is also a recording by Itzhak Perlman with full orchestra. It's on youtube.
Hi there
Fairly new on here, hoping to get busy soon... moving to vibes from (but not excluding) woodwinds, so serious learning curve likely in some areas...
I was quite lucky in acquiring a small gigging vibe- vintage, not everyone's first choice. Sounds great, though. I'm in England, and bought the vibes from a brilliant US vendor ... and they made it here, despite our 'Royal' Mail (USPS were fine).
I hope I did OK. Feedback is welcome so I know on what to work.
greetings
Stefan
